Neighborhood Revitalization

BNC's Neighborhood Revitalization Initative (NRI) helps stabilize neighborhoods, as well as prevent and mitigate the effects of foreclosure.

BNC funds nonprofits directly, and provides leadership and adminstrative support for the Baltimore Homeownership Preservation Coalition

BNC funding supports:

Neighbors in the Belair-Edison community participating in a group planting.

Group planting for a block project

in the Belair-Edison neighborhood.

  • Market-savvy and place-sensitive neighborhood revitalization efforts, to preserve progress in strengthening local real estate markets, and to provide housing opportunities for people at different income levels.

  • Education, outreach, housing counseling and legal assistance, to help people avoid losing their homes to foreclosure, and to mitigate the impact of foreclosure on families and neighborhoods.

BNC is providing grants to organizations working city-wide (Neighborhood Housing Services Baltimore and St. Ambrose Housing Aid) as well as community-based nonprofits (Belair-Edison Neighborhoods Inc, Comprehensive Housing Assistance Inc., Druid Heights Community Development Corporation, Garywn Oaks Northwest Housing Resource Center, and Southeast Community Development Corporation).
